Flame and fire protection for veneer [non-combustible and flame retardant treatment]

Inquiries are also increasing regarding the flame and fire protection of plywood.
Mainly used for events.

At the event, the default setting is to use flameproof veneers etc. for partitions, etc., and it is said that guidance is very strict especially after the event fire at Jingu Gaien.

And there seem to be many inquiries that want to manage the veneer by post-construction.

First, as a basic knowledge, veneer burns well. The main material, wood, burns, and the glue that glues it burns well.
Some companies produce flame-resistant plywood and flame-resistant plywood, so it is safe to use such plywood at event venues. It seems to be somewhat expensive in terms of cost.

By the way, is it possible to prevent flame and fire in veneer by post-installation?
If you use soufa, you can make the veneer less burnable.
The following video shows the burning test of soufa-treated wood and untreated wood.
I think you can see that there is a considerable difference.

The wood in the combustion test is not veneer but solid wood, but the same effect can be obtained with plywood such as veneer. Since soufa is an aqueous solution and has extremely low toxicity, it can be easily processed.
Currently, the 500ml spray version is sold exclusively at the yahoo shop, and the spray can be used to provide fireproofing and veneer protection of about 1 tsubo (2 tatami mats).

You can’t experience it unless you actually ignite and compare the difference, but the flame retardant performance is definitely better than the untreated one.

The number of contacts from public institutions is increasing, and it is expected to be used in dense areas.
Since soufa has almost the same texture as water, it can be used by amateurs.
Technically, it is called “flame retardant”. Flame retardants are not normally distributed to the general market.
It is common for flame retardant manufacturers to manufacture and ship to various factories.
Therefore, it is very unusual for end users to obtain our manufactured soufa as a boron flame retardant.
Highly effective mainly for cellulose and also effective for other materials.

Extremely low toxicity, it can be applied to wood materials in post-installation.
The texture is like this.

In this way, it is also possible to spray in a commercial spray container. Of course, brush or roller coating is OK.

By the way, since there are so many inquiries, we sell 500ml spray type online.

SOUFA Store

soufa is different from other non-combustible paints.
First of all, the mechanism is different.

Incombustible paints that are generally sold are those that do not burn themselves. It has no negative effect on the groundwork.
Since paint has many flammable raw materials, the fact that paint itself does not burn has great significance. Even if the base material is made of non-combustible material, if the paint is flammable, it will be troublesome.

On the other hand, soufa aims to give the base material itself flame retardancy. Wood is mainly assumed to be paper and pulp.
For example, by applying soufa to a plywood, the soufa penetrates the plywood. After that, the water of soufa evaporates, and the active ingredient sodium polyborate is fixed on the cellulose.
This is a mechanism in which this cellulose forms a foam layer on the surface of the wood when exposed to flames, and exhibits fire protection performance. That is why soufa aims to add performance to the material itself.

Flame retardants such as soufa are not available on the market through ordinary routes, and are not available to individuals and companies.
We originally operate our business under the theme of “disaster mitigation”. For this reason, it is meaningful to supply inexpensive, highly effective and safe flame retardants to end users.
Preventing fire during a disaster is an important theme.

We do not currently ship flame retardants to veneer companies.
These needs may come out in the future.
